Teen Acting workshop in Paris

This workshop is for you if:

• You believe that the best way to learn a new language is by using it. No grammar or conjugation exercises here! At Cours Florent Jeunesse, we learn through play and experience — by stepping into the shoes of an actor. 
•  You want to boost your language skills through a fully immersive week. All activities are conducted in English, switching to French only if needed for better understanding. 
•  You’d like to gain confidence in speaking and feel more at ease.  Thanks to specifically designed acting techniques, you will learn how to manage stress, improve your diction, and use the space around you! 
• You want to let your creativity and imagination run free in a fun, supportive environment, alongside a group of motivated talented peers. 
•  This workshop is open to all young people aged 13 to 17. 

“I don’t speak English!” No worries! Our teachers adapt to everyone’s level. The workshop is conducted in English, but our instructors are fully bilingual and switching back to French is always possible if needed. 

The program:

Morning: Warm up

• Voice & Body Work :  Professional actors prepare by warming up their bodies and voices.  Get ready for the afternoon scene work by learning how to breathe, articulate, and move expressively on stage. Dive into fun exercises and discover various warm-up methods used by professional actors.
• Team Work. Theatre is all about teamwork! Through group games, ensemble work, and partnering exercises, you will learn the essential fundamentals of connecting with your fellow actors and the audience.

Afternoon: Lights, Camera, Action!

• 3, 2, 1... Improv! We explore one of the most important skills in the actors’ toolkit – Improvisation!  Through short spontaneous scenes using proven methods, we learn to release our dramatic and comedic impulses… in English, of course!
• Scene work! The basis of great acting is storytelling and communicating with others.  The afternoon is comprised of work on scenes selected by your teacher. They might come from a play, a movie, or an English-language TV show… It’s your chance to apply all the tips you learned in the morning—and translate the magic from the page to the stage!
